Nintendo has officially announced a new amiibo figure based on The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, with the Mineru’s Construct amiibo set to release on September 17, 2026. The reveal has quickly gained attention among collectors and Zelda fans, thanks to its detailed design and unique in-game functionality.
The announcement was made through Nintendo’s official social media channels, confirming both the release date and the figure’s connection to one of the game’s most memorable constructs.
A Detailed Amiibo Inspired by Mineru’s Construct
The new amiibo is modeled after Mineru’s Construct, a key element from Tears of the Kingdom. The figure closely replicates the Crafter Construct design seen in-game, featuring mechanical detailing that stands out compared to previous Zelda amiibo releases.
One of its biggest highlights is articulation. Unlike standard static figures, Mineru’s Construct includes movable arms, allowing fans to pose it in different ways. This design choice has drawn comparisons to the Guardian amiibo released alongside The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in 2017, which also featured articulation.
For collectors, this makes the new amiibo both a display piece and a functional accessory tied directly to gameplay.
Beyond its physical design, the Mineru’s Construct amiibo also offers in-game bonuses. When scanned, it unlocks a new cosmetic for Link’s glider in Tears of the Kingdom.
While this reward differs from the item-heavy drops associated with earlier amiibo like the Guardian, it still adds a layer of customization that appeals to players looking to personalize their experience.
Nintendo has continued to use amiibo as a bridge between physical collectibles and digital content, and this release follows that established formula.

Zelda Expansion Continues With New Content
The amiibo reveal comes as Nintendo continues to expand the Tears of the Kingdom ecosystem beyond the game itself. Alongside the figure, fans can look forward to Tears of the Kingdom — Secrets of the Zonai, an upcoming art book produced in collaboration with Dark Horse Comics.
The book will feature over 470 pages of concept art, storyboards, and behind-the-scenes insights into the game’s development. Dark Horse Comics senior editor Patrick Thorpe described it as
“a peek behind the curtain”
that explores both the creation process and the deeper lore of the Zelda universe.
This ongoing expansion highlights how Nintendo is continuing to build long-term engagement around one of its most successful modern titles.
The announcement also arrives during a busy period for the Zelda franchise. In addition to new merchandise and publications, development is underway on a live-action Legend of Zelda film.
Franchise co-creator Shigeru Miyamoto recently confirmed that the film’s release date has been moved forward to April 30, 2027. He stated that the team is “working hard to deliver the film to everyone as soon as possible,” signaling Nintendo’s confidence in the project.
Together, these updates reflect a broader strategy to expand Zelda beyond gaming into multiple forms of media and collectibles.
The Mineru’s Construct amiibo stands out as one of the more unique Zelda collectibles in recent years. Its articulated design, combined with its connection to a fan-favorite element from Tears of the Kingdom, makes it particularly appealing to dedicated fans.
At the same time, the in-game reward adds practical value, ensuring that it is not just a display item. With amiibo often becoming harder to find after release, demand for this figure is expected to be strong.
