Detective Pikachu writers talk how they would do a Smash Bros. movie

Detective Pikachu has hit theatres this week and received lots of good reviews from critics. This makes us wonder what the future might hold for more of these type of movies to arrive or from different franchises. The writers of Detective Pikachu were actually ahead of us and in a recent interview they told us how a Smash Bros. movie could go if they had a chance to make one.

“I think that the key to doing anything like that is to make sure that the other introductory movies are sensational. It’d be a dream to write something like Legend of Zelda, but before you can get to that Smash Bros stage you have to write the best damn version of The Legend of Zelda that you possibly can. And the same with Mario, the same with Kirby, the same with Star Fox.” – Dan Hernandez

“Avengers: Endgame is only as good as it is because we loved all of those characters individually, so when it came together it was just magic. And I think that’s how you have to approach the Smash Bros.” – Benji Samit

So they would take a similar approach like Marvel does for their MCU movies, would you like to see this universe come to fruition on the big screen?
